First and Foremost…we at Pure Cash Magazine send our genuine condolences to the friends and family of Erika Roman. I cannot take any credit for anything I’m about to write. I’m not doing this for monetary purposes, or so called shine!..I’m not doing this for recognition, or selfish reasons, those who truly know me know this!…I’m doing this out of respect for someone who paved the way for so many, her contributions stretch way beyond what we will ever know. I’m not gonna sit here and tell you her life story, you can find that anywhere on the net, you can google Erika Roman for all that, I’ll even attach a bio for you!, but again…this isn’t the reason!…Think about this!…just take a moment to think!, why is it so important for you to know anything relevant about the life of Erika Roman?

We’ll get back to that in a moment, I just wanted to share something with all of you before I post Erika’s Bio…and I don’t want to sound cliche’ , but it’s so true…and it’s so relevant for our current situation right now. STOP TAKING LIFE FOR GRANTED!…STOP PROCRASTINATING!…STOP MAKING EXCUSES!…

Think this trough…Erika Roman was one of the most ambitious people I’ve ever met, she was the most Genuine, and the one most likely to succeed in anything she wanted to do!…what did people tell you all your life?…be ambitious!, be genuine!, & succeed!, look at your current situation really hard!…are you headed in the right direction?…are you pushing yourself to where you need to be?, do you often save things for tomorrow?!…if nothing else, learn from this!…Erika would be the first to lend a hand to someone that had drive!…I know!…when she said hello to you, it was real!…never fake!…in this industry, it’s rare that you find that!…I’m sure if she had an opportunity to point you in the right direction, she just did it!

In retrospect, you can learn so much from her footsteps, she never gave up!, take this with you wherever you go…whenever you feel down and worthless because you had a bad day, or you didn’t get signed, or people just don’t believe in you, think of Erika, and what she has accomplished!, and know that it was never easy…know that she was doing exactly what she loved to do!

lets get back to why I’m saying this. I’m so tired of all the good people leaving us!, I’m tired of all the negative news lately!, and although I know she was so loved in Orlando and Power 95.3, it still doesn’t feel justifiable!…her life cut short, so tragically…such a sweet person with so much promise, and so many dreams!…you have to sit back…take a breath…and know that this isn’t fair by far!…so…while this is running through your thoughts, think about what it is you want out of this life…what drives you…and take it to the extreme, because before you know it…time will pass you by, and that never feels right, because it isn’t right!, follow your instincts, and make better decisions for yourself and your family!

I want to once again acknowledge the importance of this moment, do not take my words for granted!…Erika Roman was all for positive reinforcement, and she deserved a hell of a lot more than this!, a lot more than what she had, because she earned it!, don’t ever forget her and what she stood for!, EVER!…life comes and goes…but our memories will last forever…so keep her alive through all the memories she has given us…I’m personally gonna miss you very much Erika, and although we didn’t see each other often, it was always memorable, and that’s what I’m taking with me!, Rest In Peace, and look in on us from time to time…till we meet again “Chula”, we’ll never forget you!

BIOGRAPHY Born and raised in New York City, this young vivacious Latina has been earning her stripes in the music biz for a decade. In her late teens, under the tutelage of New York entertainment impresario Sal Abbatiello, of Fever Records, Erika was being groomed for success. Simultaneously, she began promoting nightclubs while she attended Marymount Manhattan College, in New York. Here she attained a BA in Communications and Media. Always the opportunist, she took a stab as a co-host on Stonybrook University’s popular college radio station, WUSB 90.1FM. Erika’s unforgettable voice and radiant personality made her an instant hit on the show. Making her the station’s first female, hip hop on-air personality. While working at Fever Records, one of the first successful independent records companies, Erika would experience firsthand the many dynamics that make up and drive the world of entertainment. This explosive personality would go on to promote, and host popular Latin and Hip Hop based New York events, along side influential artist. Erika would have the opportunity to travel with many artists throughout the U.S. working in a managerial and promotional capacity. This MTV Real World finalist even scored a co-hosting gig on New York’s Hot 97 Morning Show with former hosts Ed Lover & Dr. Dre. Her energetic and spirited appearance was well received by not just the hosts, but by millions of listeners. Her performance would lead to several radio drops for established air personalities and add yet another talent to her already growing resume. In 2006, Erika Roman officially joined Orlando’s dynamic Hip Hop and R&B radio station WPYO/Power 95.3, as their first Latina on-air radio personality. Erika Roman has joined the already spectacular Morning Show Obie and Lil Shawn as their Producer sidekick giving them added flava to their highly rated morning show time slot. On Sundays, you can catch Erika Roman on her own show, playing the hottest Hip Hop, tapping her audience with innovative news of the entertainment industry from 4-8pm. This opportunity has opened up many doors, and will bring her to a higher level of entertainment. At the fresh start 2007, this Chula was requested to endorse Suzuki of Orlando, spotlighting the new XL7. Currently, Erika is developing an urban interest talk show. She is also in the preliminary stages of authoring a book, and never passes up the opportunity to remind people of their inner strength, power and the true essence of humanity. Designer’s Bio

My name is Eric Garcia,I grew up on 149th st. in the South Bronx,I pretty much grew up in the era of HIP-HOP. You can read about anything,but there’s nothing like living it!,those really were the days. Of course it wasn’t all roses growing up where I did,but I sure made the best of it. As far as I was concerned there was absolutely nothing wrong in my upbringing.Looking back I sometimes consider myself lucky in making it this far.In my occasional pat in the back,I never ever forget where I came from!,since life goes around once,I strongly feel that no matter how far you go,we must never forget our origins…That’s where Eric 149 comes in!…I even started my own company called One4nine Entertainment Corp. I know that in the long run,I will be giving back to what made me in the first place.

When I was 13 years old,my older brother wanted to become a DJ, so he did!..in the era of true mixtapes,he was in fact in the mix in the Bronx. He went by the name of DJ Mondolay, A name I gave him while we progressed. He is still doing his thing in the Bronx,while I do mine here in Orlando. We were the neighborhood kids you called upon when you needed  a Dj,or a Party done. I was always the negotiator/front man in this team, so as we progressed,among other hustles,this is what I became known for. I didn’t put all my eggs in one basket though,I still had extraordinarily good grades,I made money in any way i can,and I manged 3 big company’s for years!,If you ever saw my resume,you would have to be impressed,some said I was overqualified,which I always took as an insult,but always managed to get the job done!,through deadlines,through difficult people,through anything,I  never let personal issues get in the way.

I’ve been in Orlando since 2004, I have to tell you,Floridians did not make it easy on me,I had to work twice as hard to get anything done.Now its 5 years later, I mastered the art of recognizing the real people, and those are the only people I associate my time with. If you want to suceed in anything,make sure your’e in control of your destiny at all times!,the moment you put it in someone else’s hands,that’s the moment you take 3 steps back!, thats my advice, be in control!

Since I’ve been in Orlando, I’ve worked with business owners,Artists,Models,Dancers,Comedians,DJ’s etc.,I also do a regular Party Bus,that consists of VIP at your favorite venue. This is just a summary of what I’ve done, I can write a book and it still wouldn’t be enough!,until that book is written I will be a columnist for PureCash Magazine and let my voice be heard in the best way I know how.
